Zebra Metals Nhulunbuy
This project involved a road trip of 3100 kilometres for our 7 prime movers, 4 excavators and other equipment. Our team of 36 (including excavator operators, truck drivers, safety personnel, security guards, diesel and hydraulic fitters) loaded and transported 4400 tonnes of recyclable steel for shipping to Vietnam from Gove wharf.
Zebra Metals organised the contract and logistics. Equipment deployed included flat top trailers, shipping bins, 4 x excavators, 7 prime movers and trailers.
Zebra Metals Rirratjingu Mining
Zebra Metals worked with Rirratjingu Mining, run by Traditional Owners, to deconstruct and recycle an obsolete quarry circuit. The project involved the removal for recycling of 300 tonnes of steel and 420 tonnes of concrete.
The material was loaded into semi tippers and trucked to a stockpile ready for shipping. Three machines fitted with magnets, grabs and shears were used. Zebra Metals also organised the resale of major components. The job was accomplished under time and under budget with no lost time injuries.
